not very very far. it's still in Kowloon and it's near one of the train station. but the area is a residential area so the shops and resturants are mainly for local people rather than tourists. it's a bit of distance (2 miles or so) from the main shopping district in Nathan Road and Tsim Sha Tsui area. In London term it will be somewhere in zone 2. Doesnt sound very very far away but there are other hotel which is better location.

What about The Excelsior on Hong Kong Island then? Better or worse for attractions than the one above?

I know theres loads of hotels, but I've got a special offer with Virgin Holidays where I can fly upper class you see but theres only certain hotels in the brochure so I'm not booking the hotel and flights seperate, its all one joint thing.

give us the list of your options and i am sure myself and others can tell you which one we think is good.

i've never stay in Excelsior before but i know it's part of Marriott group so i guess the quality wont be too bad.

just out of interest what is the deal that you are getting with virgin? I think my missus was looking into something similar a while back but at the end we decided it's better to travel on budget and stay in luxury rather than the other way round.

Not sure about price comparisons and stuff but Excelsior is in Causeway Bay IIRC and in not a bad spot at all. Not far from a bunch of shopping places and easy walking distance to MTR stations
