Ah freshers week, went out on the first night and realised how rubbish it all was.
Having a cocktail party with charity shop fancy dress code and spinning only 80's vinyl the way to go.
The tweed jacket will live on in mine and many other's memories, I hope.

my tip regarding Cd's/DVD's/Game disks is to get a big CD wallet ( I have 2x256 disks ) to put them in and leave the cases at home. Essentials would be basics like TV, PC ( you wont need a stereo becuse your PC can do that ) clothes etc. Depends on how far away you're uni is from home i guess. </BLOCKQUOTE>

marihuana is pretty much the only thing I never seem to forget. never leave it at my uni place, as those things tend to disappear rather quickly. might not bother bringing it home everytime this year though, as I live in an all girl place now.

what they said, my first two years at uni I took my cases and they looked great on the wall, but whilst at uni my cd collection multiplied by about 7/8, so there's just no room for them anymore, I just take the cds on their own. I like having a cd player at uni (just a small one) so I don't have to use my laptop all the time, plus the speakers on my laptop are crap.

Also I wouldn't take a tv, there's nothing on anymore, as long as you've got one in the common room you'll be fine.

yeah george foreman type grill pretty much essential, so much quicker & easier when it comes to cooking up something quick.

Lots of change for Launderette if you are staying in halls, if not washing powder/liquid/tablets of some kind.
