I'm not expecting the league form to continue throughout the season and I'm not expecting us to win the league either. I think we'll improve over last season though and at least be in the race.

Regardless, the situation at the club is very, very good indeed and I think things will continue to get better.

can just imagine the Glazers reading those Arsenal financial figures this morning and getting straight on the phone to Gill demanding to know how they're doing it.

cue ticket prices going up yet again next season \O/

Whether we maintain the good form or not, Wenger won't spend millions overhauling the squad as he constantly reiterates the faith he has in the players he has.

I keep finding myself admiring Arsenal's football and the way the club is run.

If we had a decent Spurs thread in this place, I'd be ashamed to show my face in there again.

I wonder if the rumours of a £70m transfer budget are in time for FM08. They'll be unstoppable if it is.

In real life, I don't get why Wenger didn't buy another top class central defender. Going through the season with an injury prone Gallas and an accident prone Senderos to play alongside of Toure doesn't seem a brilliant idea.

Because if we buy a top class central defender - which of our other two superb centre backs misses out when all are fit?

It won't be. The Arsenal research is really shoddy, or at least it was in the most recent versions.

fwiw, there is no such thing as "extortionate prices" in the vast majority of markets.

Isn't that like us arguing that we shouldn't buy a centre forward because Saha is great when he's fit, though?
