I have to drink before going to see Wednesday. In fact, going to the match is generally the low point of a good drinking session during a Saturday.

The drive home was supposed to be about 2½ hours but I added another hour onto the journey by being sick every 15mins. By the end of the journey I was just retching with no more left to come out.
| Nothing worse when that happens. I went to watch us play Millwall after a heavy session the previous night, back in 91. Had been throwing up during the night/morning and was still bad when we got to the ground. Sure enough, I missed Micky Quinn scoring due to barfing in the toilet. The joys of being 18. :thdn:
Mark G - I stand corrected.

Drinking is part of a good football day for me. When going to Bayern games we have to drive about 100 km by bus, so i only can drink about 5 beers, which doesnt make me too drunk, just gets me in a good mood to support my team.
Get my other 5 beers when driving home then, just to let the day fade in a local pub afterwards...

Dont see the point myself tbh. We have people who go to our games, get to their seats 15 mins into the game, dissapear 10 mins before kick off, then reappear 15 into the second half. Seems pointless to me.
Only time i've been drunk at the football was the league cup Final. My mate was over from Texas for the game so we were on the lash in Wigan from 6pm the Sat night until 6am the Sunday morning before leaving for Cardiff at 7.30.
That certainly numbed the pain that day.

I'll have a few rums, and a beer before a game, but I've never been drunk at a match.
Stoned, though . . .

Couple of Guys who were sitting next to me at the Trophy final last year turned up wasted before kick off, all was going well until they went for a **** at half-time and came back and couldnt find their seats even though they were standing right next to them.
They ended up watching the rest of the game on steps and virtually passing out. When we scored in the last minute everyone was going crazy and im surprised these two guys didnt get injured with all the jumping, they didnt move during the celebrations and on the way out of the game they asked me what the score was |

Gillingham away to Preston, at the time of major rail delays, so a long journey from Kent was made even longer. We left Gillingham at 7.30, getting to Preston at around 2.30. The game was delayed because of traffic, meaning a 4.30 kick-off. So two hours to spend in the pub, plus a trainload of Leffe...I was standing, but a friend of mine slept all the way throughout and missed a marvellous comeback from injury by Carl Asaba.

Had a couple of beers then got talking to these Serbs in a bar, they started standing us shots of the local firewater and it would have been frankly rude to refuse. Unfortunately they also offered us pig trotters in jelly.
Remember trying to sing the Serbian anthem loudly in the stadium and started sobering up once Earnshaw had missed a sitter. S4C were doing a documentary on Welsh away fans and I remember ranting into the camera about the stewardesses on JAT. No idea if that made the cut or not. Was taking photos of the riot police on the walk back to town. Can't understand why I didn't get my head battered off. I think the Serbs were just in a generally good mood because they had won and no black players had scored.
Was a great trip.
| Belgrade ifb
What's the firewater called again? Must find a bottle, liked it.
