£650 on a trip to Barcelona, £100 on a hotel room last saturday, £60 on a train ticket to Liverpool for next weekend. The other £200ish is just on random things here and there, Halo 3, train tickets to work, lunch, cinema etc. I think it just sounds worse because its been going on my credit card, i dont feel like Id care so much if it was coming out of my debit account even though it'd be just the same.

The weird thing is how I wanted to buy a new HD TV, but Id never justify spending like £500 on one even though I just dropped £650 on a 4 day trip to Spain?

Pretty easy semi explanation.

De La Rue (who print the banknotes for the Bank of England) also print Euro notes for the EU (iirc they were a major party in the development of the notes as they have the best equipment and security stuff)

Hence any new notes they produce on their new modern equipment would resemble their other output - in this case - the Euro notes.

As Moreclaw has said - have a look at what the Norwegian Bank issues as it's own currency - a lot like the Euro as well - but was around a good few years before the Euro came in

well its not that, its just the TV would obviously last longer, I dont know why I see one more justifyable than the other thats all
