Think I might have asked this question before, but here it goes anyway. Been to see the ENT specialist at the local hospital. After having had a sleep study done (some months ago) which didn't diagnose any sleep aponea - I've not got the option to go ahead and have a septoplasty to correct my deviated septum (it's the middle bit of cartlidge in the nose). Having had a couple of broken noses, figured it was about time that I had my conk looked at.
I think the procedure involves an op under general anesthetic, and an overnighter in hospital. Apparently two weeks are also recommended off work to recover. Not too sure about having that long, due to the sick pay for my job not being great.
So just wondered if anyone on OTF has had this operation, and whether they can pass on any advice ? I might end by saying that the op isn't necessary so I don't have to go through with it if I don't want to. Ironically it may well make my snoring problem worse due to the airways being opened up properly !

Has anyone had a Septoplasty operation before ? Post #2
I've had a similar op, they straightened the middle bit of my nose (inside only) and reduced some swelling. I've found its helped a lot, especially with my breathing and when I have a cold etc. Cost my a few k though, as had it done private.

There's no need for comments like that here. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Why?
It's a joke off a well know tv show that doesn't offend anyone so why do you have to be offended by it?

It seems to be the new flavour of the month, as mixit found out.
Friend of mine had it done, must have been a year or two ago now. Like Jason said, really improved her breathing. Don't think she ever mentioned any sleeping issues though.

My girlfriend had it done in March. Pretty straightforward although she was quite sore for a few days after... and wanting to blow her nose but couldn't.
She went private, and that made the whole operation process so easy and more bearable.
