Having watched some more:
Californication:
Decent enough, Duchovny is good for the role
IMO but the show is, like prong says, a pretty standard comedy. Except for the nudity. The story could turn old pretty fast though, so we'll have to see where they take things with it.
I'm gonna watch it, but it's not a must-see really.
Aliens in America:
Something just felt 'off' about parts of the pilot, but overall it was pretty good. Wasn't exactly hilarious though, more amusement than real laughs from me.
Gonna catch the first few episodes and see if it improves, as it certainly has potential, but if not I'll drop it.
Chuck:
I quite liked it, had a few laughs and the whole style of the show suits me, even if as Gav says it's not really anything groundbreaking. Oh, and every time the NSA guy (Adam Baldwin) was on screen, all I could think of was Jayne Cobb with that silly hat of his.
Watching this. Interested to see how it progresses.
The Sarah Connor chronicles:
I'm undecided about this. On the one hand I like Lena Headey and Summer Glau here, but I wasn't actually a fan of the Terminator movies, and I wasn't very drawn into the plot. But the time jump changes things somewhat, and they could go in different directions from here, so time will tell.
Again, gonna watch to see how it develops.
