Oh and of course, "In the Pale Moonlight" was outstanding.

Moonlighting - The episode where they did a version of The Taming Of The Shrew was great at the time, though I haven't seen it for 20 years so it may not have aged well.

One Foot In The Grave - The episode where Meldrew ends up buried under a plant pot.

Porridge - the two hander in the cell.

You've Been Framed - Animals Special.

ER - Euan MacGregor getting killed.

There must be a Murder One episode to choose, and one from The Wire as well, but my memory is playing up.

I agree with Cilldara's "Yes Minister" ones, and would add the one where Humphrey turns out to have massively sold a Scottish military base in his early career.

Made in America, the last episode of the Sopranos is simply fantastic for so many reasons but

I forgot the episode of Frasier in which Niles sleeps with Lilith, and the one of Cheers featuring John Cleese as a psychiatrist. Ffffb both.

Which one was that? </BLOCKQUOTE>

The one where Picard lives a whole life on a destroyed planet in 25 minutes whilst lying on the bridge of the Enterprise. He got his Resikkan flute in it. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Yes that was a standout episode of Star Trek but not the best. As awesome as it was, the DS9 episode "Duet" was better (IMO). </BLOCKQUOTE>

I found The Visitor had the most impact on me on first viewing.

There’s something touching about knowing that so many men would have made these pushes in the war, knowing that they’d most likely die, but still going ahead. Don’t think I would have had the guts to do that.
You wouldn't have had the choice. It was either over the top to be killed by Gerrie or don't go over and be killed by officers.

The fact it was a comedy is what makes this such a poignant moment. Comedy has this incredible ability, when done properly, to get to the gut. I don't really like Ben Elton as a stand up comedian, but he is a great writer. As is Curtis of course. Possibly one of my favourite TV episodes tbh of any show.

IT’S PC GONE MAD.
Indeed. I doub't you'd ever see this line in a modern comedy.

The Major: And the strange thing was... throughout the morning she kept referring to the Indians as *******. "No no no," I said, "the ******* are the West Indians. These people are wogs."

Nowadays 'comedy' is some bitch who can't act her way out of a paper bag with holes in it screaming.

My Old Lady and My Screw Up for Scrubs.

The Futurama one with the dog actually had me a little choked up.

Hank Scorpio episode on The Simpsons
