I'd rather a Prem - Lower League team play on TV as well, but seeing as they're determined to have an all Premiership fixture on, I'm baffled as to why Arsenal - Newcastle isn't on.

I watched Northampton play Huddersfield weekend and the football Northampton played in the second half is better than what Liverpool have produced in the last 3 weeks.
Lower league football the players obviouly are not as good as the premiership players but the games are more exciting and there are more than 4 clubs capable of winning any of the lower leagues.

Really ? I'd have thought there were as many ABL's out there as there are ABU's. Or ABC's, these days.

tbh 2 seasons ago Grimsby V Spurs was on, and after we knocked them out Grimsby V Newcastle was on. It's not always the all premier games that are on. But as we showed, upset possibilities > *

It's all about the tv deals and the ratings.

Would guess that there is some sort of deal that a certain number of Prem teams have to be shown playing during the competition/ season and this is a good way to kill two birds with one stone.

Sky are generally pretty good at picking English cup games involving lower league teams. Not really their fault they didn't have much to choose from for tomorrow night.

I was hoping that Burnley vs Pompey might be on, Burnley are doing well and there is always the chance of an upset.

I know it is down to popularity but it is a shame to see the same clubs again who were playing in Europe on TV last week.

Haha, mallen such a bitter snob

Was reading some garbage in the times about how predictable Arsenal beating Derby was and how bad things have become, yeah, its a sad state of affairs when you can predict the form team in the league, the team at the top of the league will beat a newly promoted team, who are the worst team in the league by a mile.
