An even simpler solution would be to introduce legislation banning outbound callcenters.

Until that happens, it's usually one of the following scenarios for me:

*) don't answer the phone if the number is withheld

*) answer it but take the mickey

*) answer it and kindly tell them to f-off

*) answer it and be less-PC than OTF could possibly imagine

It takes 5 minutes to register for TPS Raptor. I'm not saying the government should do nothing about the cold calling - but we do at least have an easy means to stop them ourselves.

Have signed upto TPS as well. Just leave calls to go through to the answerphone now though the cold callers don't tend to speak then. People who i want to ring leave a message and i answer while they are leaving message.

I used to get about three an evening between 6 and 7pm. Registered with TPS about 2000 and I get about one or two foreign ones a month and that's it.
