& his ' Twists'
| No it really doesn't make sense. </BLOCKQUOTE>
he sent Kyle back to create himself, kyle was already in existence in 20?? by going back ho does create a paradox but tbh john's likely not worried as terminators are kicking his arse
is your problem with him being johns father or that john sent him back to create himself?
as i said don t wanna think about it so thats prob. crsp </BLOCKQUOTE>
How can he send Kyle back to create himself then? Seeing as by that logic he wouldn't exist.

Del Toro > Sean Paul
Fact is, you can do wtf you want in a comic book film. Especially if you're f**king ace.

geeez..
| I disagree.
The way it plays in the film is that Marvin phones Chuck and tells him about "that new sound he's [sic] been looking for," with the implication that if it had not been for the phonecall then Chuck would not have found the new sound, and hence Johnny B Goode would not have been written, preventing Marty from being able to play it, of course.
It's definitely a Chicken & Egg thing, you just desparately want it not to be because you clearly love the film so much. And you're right to, because it's fb.
A hoverboard would be cracking right about now.

Rob1981's on thin ice as well, for not making it clear that Back To The Future 2 is still a great film despite some dodgy plotholes.
| Oh BTTF2 is awesome. One of my favourite films ever.
But once Biff's given his younger self the book, he wouldn't be able to get the DeLorean back to Doc and Marty in 2015. He'd end up in the future of the other reality. </BLOCKQUOTE>
noooo beacause the point in time that he actually exited the past Biff hadn't started using the book. Therefore he entered and exited on a timeline that had already transpired (i.e the one from where he was from) which is different to the alternative timeline which carried on from when he left.
geeeez.. </BLOCKQUOTE>
I'm not having that. It's not the same timeline is it, not once young Biff's got in the car with the old dude and started driving about. </BLOCKQUOTE>
but as they shown in BTTF to effects are not instantaneous, they take a while to take effect, like with the fading photos etc, so he can get back before the timeline is corrected and the changes are implemented. </BLOCKQUOTE>
he get's it!

it still doesn't make sense though as said all time travel movies just don't work, at least where cause and effect occurs.

Nah, don't agree.
But try this one. BTTF3: 1955 Doc helps Marty get the DeLorean out of the mine, soup it up, fix it, and sends him back to the old west. 1955 Doc then becomes 1985 Doc, invents the time machine, etc etc, and ENDS UP IN 1885. Marty shouldn't need to go looking for him - he should be waiting by the cave.
In fact, Marty shouldn't need to go at all. Doc should knows what's coming and just pay Buford the money.

no it's not. Again you're making the same mistake as Rob and accepting time as a linear, immovable occurrence.
Chuck wrote the song. Marty went back in time to play the song (as he said, it's an oldie and he obviously thought the kids at the dance would relate to it). Chuck's cousin Marvin, Marvin berry called Chuck and Marty's version just aided in the materialisation of the inevitable.
Also we don't get to hear Chuck's response. Now 'Johnny B Goode' first charted around 1957 using a music formula Chuck berry had been toying with since he released 'Maybellene' in early 1955. So Chuck could have been saying 'who's this little fecker stealing my music', or he could be saying 'that's pretty good, sounds like something i'd write'.
And so Chuck goes and pen's Johny B Goode.
Also, as you can see from the film Marvin only makes the call towards the end of the call and therefore Chuck only hears the end of the song, and Marty doing his solo.
Therefore Chuck wrote the song as he had no way of hearing the first 2 verses.
End of discussion.

Tbh, the whole idea of time travel is fictional and always will be. Therefore we can't say it is flawed in films as we do not know how it would work.
BTTF pwnz!
