Not in the sense of actually pocketing any wares. But I did on a few occassions omit to tell the cash-out person they made a mistake and handed me too much change. A couple of Euros worth, nothing much.

I'm too honest. Once, in my student days, I desperately needed some money, so I went around my room and found some Belgian Francs (The BFR was worth about (Dutch Guilders) ƒ0.05). So I went to the bank, handed the girl (obviously new, supervisor looking over her shoulder) about BFR 300. So I should have gotten a few Guilders. Instead, I got almost ƒ800 :eek:. I picked up the slip and realized they thought I handed them Swiss Francs. Was sorely tempted, but told them they made a mistake. I'm still not sure who was more embarrassed, she or her good for nothing supervisor

i have accidently commited shoplifting, was walking through a store and got this CD ( I have no idea why the tag didn't set off an alarm, it must have been faulty! ) and must have put it with my other shopping and forgot about it, and didn't realise till I was on the train home. I felt so guilty and was mentally preparing myself everytime Crimewatch was on!

Lots, in my youth. IIRC the going rate was a pair of Levis jeans (provided by me or a mate) for a bottle of Vodka or a case of beer (provided by someone slightly older).

yeah it does legally if you are aware of it, you wouldn't go to prison for it, but they could certainly ask for the money back.
