Most of what you read is "rumour" but alot of these rumours are messages being sent out from within the club or via journalists that do generally have pretty good contacts, better than us anyway.

How do you figure that? I hear rumours on an almost daily basis about players within my club and I haven't had the inclination to work out the accuracy percentage, but I'd wager 90% of it is rubbish. How much that is written on the back pages of newspapers turns out to be more than speculation?

Grant, you mean ? Yes, wonder if he'll deliver the attacking football Roman wants. Or maybe should say is 'rumoured' to want as never heard him say it himself, like but it's accepted wisdom
Granted, plenty of rubbish is written of course. I'm not talking about "Smith to City" but stories of discontent, major deals, contract stuff etc ... there is smoke. Plenty of times a "rumour" starts in a paper and follows through. They got early inkling of goings on, connections. Journalists do have very good contacts within the game
Well without following through on a paper and working out how many stories are are actually factual, then we can't find an answer tbh. I'm still firmly in the camp that most of what is written in papers etc is baseless.

It's a bit harder to say that now that Jose has gone. I've been ignoring the rumours of a rift between him and Roman for months now, but clearly there must have been considerable substance to them.
