Its grown on me. I dont like that Home with Chris Martin though. before his 2nd album came out I had a completely different version of it, same lyrics, mowtown beat, was much better imo.

Some of the songs are pretty decent, but I feel like this album he is trying too hard to rely on his lyrics, which are usually weak. Big Brother is a bit xfag too

Everything I Am, Flashing Lights, The Glory and maybe the Good Life are the only songs I like really.

That quote at the top, well, I didn't think people went into music that deeply. If I like it, I like it and listen to it, if i don't like it, I don't listen to it, I don't carry on thinking about it etc and how it effects his persona and so on.

what he's done thematically isn't being done anywhere else in hip-hop. that's where I fundamentally disagree with Mr. Hoyt, and though I certainly respect his opinion and agree with some of his points, we'll continue to differ.

listened to it once, no inclination to listen to it again.

Best hip hop album I've heard this year probably the Jazzy Jeff album

Really hated it at first but as it was Kanye I stuck with it.

I've gradually come to the conclusion that it opens really strongly, up until 'the good life' and imo that's the last real decent song.

As always the production is good, his lyrics are awful but he has a certain charm that draws me to him.

The opening three tracks are really good imo, and Wonder is very decent too.

This album continues my run of never hearing a good hip hop album that I've been anticipating. Have been greatly let down by Kanye, T.I and Common this year.

Talib Kweli has been album of the year so far imo.

I also feel the need to point out that 'Drunk and Hot Girls' just might be the worst song I have ever heard.

I really have no idea wth Kanye was going for with that song. It feels like it is never ending and it actually makes me a little bit depressed every time I hear it.

Drunk and Hot girls I just don't understand why it made the cut at all. It's not going to make a single is it (I hope not).. pointless. Same thing with Barry Bonds.

Flashing Lights I like a lot. As I do Good Morning.

Homecoming - I got this on vinyl from like 2+ years ago, but it was called "Home" back then - Kanye now adds Chris Martin onto the chorus and now it's suddenly a new song called Homecoming.

Certainly not on the same level as his second album, which I don't think was on the same level as his first either.

For some reason 'Gone' is my favourite Kanye West song. Jesus Walks and both versions of 'Diamonds' are good too.

Haven't really listened to 'The College Dropout'. Will be replaying it a bit within the next week.
