Yeah but if someone stole my bacon sandwich after I left it in the kitchen I'd be upset but if I wanted it so bad I wouldnt have left it there in the first place.

I always follow my nephew (14 months) whenever he walks off on his own. Partly out of concern, partly because he's awesome (already dribbling like Ronaldo). It baffles me that anyone could leave a young child unsupervised.

No I fully agree with you Scott, I think parents in situations like these should be held accountable by law, but it's unlikely to happen because of the whole emotion surrounding it.

While I'd agree the McCanns were negligent for me they weren't negligent enough to warrant prosecution. The negligence and the alleged abduction aren't connected imho.

It's not really irrelevant, because if it were irrelevant then parents would indeed be prosecuted for neglect. So why aren't they?
