Second hand car buying advice - Suggestions welcome
My mam was involved in a car crash last night, caused by a speeding dickhead slamming into the back right hand side of her as she crossed the road. Thankfully she's unhurt, but her Ford Fiesta Zetec is pretty much toast.
I've been perusing AutoTrader for a decent replacement, which is hopefully an upgrade of the bog standard car that she used to have. Have found something which she likes.
* 83,000 miles
* MANUAL
* SILVER
* Diesel
* 3 Door Hatchback
* Y reg (2001)
Manual, 83,000 miles, ABS,CD and Audio remote control, Body coloured bumpers, Remote Central locking, Drivers and passanger air bags and side impact air bags, 11 Months MOT Great clean condition and drives very well grab a bargen with a 35 pound a year tax bill and power steering. £2,550
Now this sounds like an ideal replacement and i've been reading very favourable reviews with great mpg, but the milage is throwing me off quite a bit. So advice is needed. Should i recommend this? She's set herself a budget of £2,600. Can the ever resourceful OTF suggest a better car for the price? She's after a small car.

Friend of mine is a driving instructor and has what sounds to be a near-identical Clio for it that I was in today. Has done 118,200+ miles and he has never had a single problem with it, which is pretty good when you consider that it will have had numerous people learning in it etc.

I'm not thinking that's going to be a huge issue for Sean Paul's mother.
Clios are fine. But there will be loads of cars along similar lines for the same price - Fiestas, Micras, Kas, Corsas, etc. I don't think there's really a stand out one.
