Default Format or not to Format. That is the question.

I'm thinking about formating the HD on my desktop, as everything is running slowly and feel it could do with a spring clean, of such.

But I've got lots of music on here for my mp3, all my favourite links on the t'interweb and other favourite things I don't really want to lose.

The music I have on CD so not a loss, but the other stuff is all only on here... Do I spend ages bunging it on disk or bite the bullet?

Might want to think about partitioning your drive too if it's fairly large so that any future format isn't such a pain in the ass.

Probably no more than a DVD's worth.

But it's the worry of doing it and losing something I forgot about...

Just back it up then, remembering to double check you have everything saved before you format. You can back up your favourites, and dont forget things like saved games and stuff in the my documents folder.

then as Dane said, create a partition to prevent the hassle of doing this again
