Default Dreams of a career in game design?
From the title you can probably guess I have delusions of being a games designer or being involved in some way in the production of Football Manager. At the minute I'm 18 and have all the basic science, english and maths GCSEs as well as NVQ and BTECs in computer engineering. Next year I'm signed up to do a foundation degree in computers to widen my computer knowledge but was wondering where to go from there, any ideas or advice would be appreciated.

For SI best way in is to apply for a summer testing job and go from there really.

Teach yourself C++, basically the only way to go. Your uni might not teach you it.

If you have any interest in 3D games, I recommend familiarising yourself with some 3D game engine software and the production of objects and environments both in such engines and in dedicated 3d software such as Maya and 3D Studio Max. Only applies if you're interested in more than coding of course.
