i'd take half and half to mean a loose sort of tuck rather than fully tucked in, so there's a slight overhang. but who knows, perhaps it's a technical term?

tucked in is the general rule here now unless you're at the bottom of the social ladder where out is still okay it seems. I still have some shirts that look better out, white shirts for example. Quote:

obviously.
| This is wrong I think. Straight bottom shirts are designed by the manufacturer to be tucked in, mostly into slacks. Shirts with the curved ends (name eludes me) are generally made to be work out, over jeans mostly.

you could not BE more wrong!
the longer tail (for the gentleman sir) is designed EXACTLY so that it it remains FIRMLY tucked in, regardless of how long you sit/stand/walk.
the square hem cut is is designed for men with a slim/average build so that the drape means both front and back of the shirt are an equal height/parallel to the ground.
