I no longer enjoy getting drunk

I cannot remember the last time I was drunk; perhaps the staff do in June but I was in control. I used to be a 3-4 times a week drunkard - cannot imagine doing it now. I probably have an average of a pint a week now, tbh.

anyone else like to stay in.. more and more? find myself sitting here anticipating a great night; a film, belgian football, motd, some fm, a couple of joints and perhaps a couple of beers. the girlfriend is out with friends tonight, she'll not be here until around 2, mabye 3am.

does that sound perfect to anyone else, or am I really not that good a friend? couple of mates have asked to go out tonight, but I've decided to turn them down and just stay in - felt right.

am/was I wrong?

Mind you I have always hated clubs so atleast thats not changed... Maybe it's not even just getting drunk. Maybe I just dont enjoy alcohol anymore.

For the record. I've only had about 3 beers this month and even then I couldn't be arsed

Same thing happened to me a few years back and I have hardly drunk since and all I have drunk since is a can of beer at Xmas, I feel better for it and so does my pocket!

I prefer quiet nights in now. I think from what I have read in the thread i'm starting to agree it may be the whole drinking 'culture' that I hate most.

A few beers, Pizza, Good movie/football at home > Going out getting ****ed on sambuca/jd/tequila/apple sourz and whatever other shots are in.

Tonight I have been invited to a friends gig at a place called the Beer Circus in Croydon.

Normally, I would jump at the chance, quite a few people I know will be there. Will be good.

But i'm also feeling really tired, I got Halo 3 yesterday and MOTD should be good tonight.

Just put a Pizza in the oven, I need to decide by about 8:30-9 whether to go to the pub for the gig, or just stay in. For a change i'm more leaning towards just staying in.
