Brum played man yoo off the park for about the first 36 minutes and could of scored 3 goals.
But we didn't - and the rest is history.
My main gripe against the bruce this time was that if we were not expecting to get anything from this game, then to play 4-4-2 and at least have more than a go than we did.
Only in the last 8 minutes did we go 4-4-2.
Hmmmm.

Tbf that might be a case of minimising the damage goal difference wise, if you are going to be in a relegation battle could be the difference between 3rd and 4th bottom - probably not wise to go all guns blazing against man utd and end up losing 2 or 3 nil as opposed to 1-0

I honestly think we would have done better without him on the pitch. He gets the ball, gives it away, then refuses to work to get it back. </BLOCKQUOTE>
i think that's what ticks me off most about him atm. one of his most admirable qualities a few years ago was that despite being one of the best wingers in the world, his work rate was simply superb. if he lost the ball, he worked his arse off to get it back.
i'd have a hell of a lot more sympathy for him if that work rate was still there.

Just about sums Gigg's performance up, in that the only two people prepared to even consider mounting a defence for him weren't watching the game.
Matt, would quite agree the sentiment about scapegoating if all the from players were playing equally badly. But the point was that while none Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez, Scholes and Carrick were playing particularly well, that was more in the sense that they weren't able to produce any magic to break birmingham down.
Giggs was different in that, as SLO_Fila said, virtually every attack that went through him broke down as he gave the ball away. The others were at least able to pass to each other quite often.
Oh, and Scatter, i made exactly the same point about Giggs a while back, which is where this "hands on hips" thing came from. It's not that he puts his hands on his hips, it's that it's what he does when he should be chasing back.
I don't know if you remember the goal Cantona scored against Blackburn when we beat them at OT in '95 (the last goal he scored before his ban)? That was a prefect example. Giggs went on a run, lost the ball, chased back, won it back with that great sliding tackle he used to do, and put a perfect cross in for Cantona to head home. I posted a link to it a while back, but i can't be bothered looking for it again.

Mark, remember my Giggs comments about Mars during the Everton game? In comparison to this week, that was like popping out to the shops.
