I've actually found a computer retailer more retarded than PC World

Step forward the people of Gamestation...

Swung by town after work today to pick up a copy of a game for the PC.

Get there at 5:15pm to be confronted with the "Open" sign on the door stating they were open until 5:30pm Monday to Saturday, etc., a queue of people inside at the till and a few more milling around the shop looking at various games.

Go to open the door to go in - and it's locked.

So try the door again (might be stuck) - but no - it's definitely locked.

So I try knocking - that doesn't work, so I wait around outside for about 5 minutes waiting for one of those at the till to make their purchase and leave.

It's currently 5:20pm at this point - still plenty of time before the store is supposed to close.

So - cue some neanderthal in a Gamestation polo shirt leading a customer to the door, which he unlocks to let the customer out.

Says I "Mate, got a pre-order that I'd like to collect"

Gamestation idiot "Nah, we're closed"

Me: "But it's still 10 minutes until you close" (pointing at the sign on the door)

Gamestation employee: "Nah - don't think so"

Me: "It'll only take about 30 seconds - rang earlier - the thing i've ordered is sat by your till - I've got the money here ready." (Bring cash out of pocket to reinforce point)

Gamestation employee: "Nah - we're shut"

At that he closes the door, locks it, walks off, but he can't even be arsed to change the sign on the door from "Open" to "Closed".

30 seconds later - the scene is repeated when a couple come by - apparently to pick up a PS3 bundle for their son's birthday the next day.

That kid is gonna be mighty disappointed tomorrow...
