If my staff shut a shop early, they'd get disciplined.
And if a store wouldn't let me in saying they were shut within their opening hours without a good reason (eg power failure), then I would never shop there again.
If the numpties who work there keep doing this, they're going to get less and less customers. If they get too few customers the store will close. If the store closes, then the numpties will lose their jobs (good ones may get transferred). They'd deserve it too, if they don't respect the people that essentially pay their wages.
