The worst match-fixing attempt ever has earned Cameroon side Bamboutos a double relegation after their captain Koss Roger gave an envelope containing cash to Federal skipper Nkouma Rim on the pitch - minutes later Rim let Roger score in his side's 3-2 win. (Various)
First link there, although it's nothing that hasn't been said here.
The "And Finally" though
that's up there with this recent news from the FA Vase.
"An FA Vase Protest Sub-Committee meeting held on Monday 1 October 2007 considered a protest from Sun Postal Sports on the inclusion of two players of Sawbridgeworth Town who played in the tie under the names of other players. The players involved were Greg Hiughes playing under the name of Dave Hutchison and Mickey Burrell playing under the name of Andy Clark.
Having considered the matter carefully, the Protest Sub-Committee decided that the protest is upheld and as Sawbridgeworth Town have breached the FA Vase Rules by playing an ineligible player in the tie as the player Greg Hughes was under a Hertfordshire FA suspension."

The best bit of this was the Sawbridgeworth committee saying something along the lines of: "We're really sorry, it was an honest mistake due to inexperience within our club."
Yeah, inexperience in that you didn't get away with it
