No idea. Not tried EU3 yet, and I shan't until I'm bored with EU2 or some of the good mods get it together for EU3.
Magna Mundi Gold is supposed to be very good for EUIII.
I'm eyeing EUIII up myself - but with CKeus Vult on the horizon, it'll only get put on the shelf for a while.
Think I may well have missed a trick with these games in that I've never actually heard of them.
Now, I've played M:TW2 and found it okay, but I lost interest very quickly.
Can someone give me a quick overview of the differences between say, EUII and the Total War games? I'd do it myself but I'm at work at the moment and can't get on the net at home.
In EU2 battles are fairly abstract. Only 3 troop types (though with 50 different tech levels and many things you can do to improve their morale), you set up armies and send them to fight. You can't control them once the fighting starts, they just slug it out.
What EU2 does have is a fantastic diplomatic model and AI good enough to hand your arse to you until you suss out that you have to behave reasonably in respect to your neighbours or they soon all gang up on you.
There's also trade, religion, exploration, colonisation, and loads more. It's all a bit overwhelming to begin with but there's a tutorial that's very helpful. Maintaining stability and stabbing enemies or sometimes allies in the back is the key.
It's more of a Civ type game than a TW type game. If you like Civ then give it a go, it's far more interesting and in-depth. Should be available for cheap now that EU3 is out. The AGCEEP mod is great.
