You can also take the route of doing CIMA or ACCA while these are finance based study they are very much towards business being a Management qaulification also.
They are internationally recognised and when fully completed are considered equivalent to a masters degree.
Won't have to sell me your kidney either to pay for the study |

Not really after a finance qualification, as i work in the technology industry. But looking to expand scope towards organisational and strategy, as well as product management.
Also, MBA's seem to be worth more (in salary terms) than a regular masters.

Value of MBAs are much diminished since there heyday when they pretty much guaranteed great prospects and salary.
If you already have middle management business experience in a medium to large sized corporation an MBA can still lead to great career advancement. However, as more frequently these days, students straight out of degrees or with one/two years experience are taking these courses unless you are graduating out of a school with a very good reputation it is unlikely that the bump will be worth the hard graft an expense.
My experience, back in the bad old days of corporate finance, outside of my Infopop client relationship management, was that young MBA graduates were a nightmare to deal with during due diligence stages of transactions as they were all theory and knew little of the real world dynamics which essentially valued a business.

Yeah, thats what i'm looking for, with 10 years of experience, the application of the qualification (if i go for it) should hopefully, allow me to develop in other directions not currently available to me due to my current specialisation. Hopefully the experience from my current and previous roles are transferable, and using an MBA as a ground base to demonstrate the transferability of the skills, it should hopefully enable further career advancement, and allow me to spread out into other industries.

This may not relate to you at all, and if so discard it, but a bit of my experience with a similar dilemma.
In my course, you have the option to take a break for 1 year and either get an extra BSc from any uni in the country or a Masters in Research - basically degrees that would take much longer to complete normally.
What I found is that everybody seems to have a different opinion about the usefulness - it even varies depending upon the professor you talk to and by the time it becomes relevant peoples opinions may all change again. The only thing gained by asking a lot of people is to get myself confused.
What I find is that only trusting my own instinct and understanding rather than trying to get an answer from peoples advice was the only way of coming to a decision
Re-reading what I wrote I just realised that's actually more or less common sense :/
