Prison Visits

Ok, so my dumb arse best mate missed his community service a few times and is currently banged up for a few weeks at nottingham prison.

Does anyone know how the visiting system works for prisons? do the inmates have to request a visit or do i call to make a visit??

any ideas fellas?

Your mate has to request that you visit.

Is it possible for me to call the prison and request a visit? or is it the case where i write to him directly and ask him to request one?

Write to him. If he's only there for a few weeks though it's probably not worth the bother.
