Its not so much im enjoying it any more, its just that the course isnt as bad as I thought it was going to be. Tbh the course has never been the biggest problem, the tutors have said they will allow me to change it all along.

I'm just struggling to adapt to the massive changes that have happened. Living away from home really hard for me, I come from a really close-knit family and when i was younger I had real problems even staying the night at close friends houses. I'm not even sure that Uni is right for me at this present time, its all a big change thats happening really quickly.

I'm finding that from the moment I wake up i'm questioning whether I want to be here and wishing I was back at home. I really wish I didnt feel this way because the people are brilliant, ive really bonded with my block. I've told them how I feel and theyve been doing their best to help me through this. Im just massively depressed atm.

you've got to ball up, you're not going to be living at home forever.

Stick with it a while, iirc Andy Jordan was wussing about being away from family for the first couple of weeks or so after starting Uni but ended up sticking it and enjoying the course.

A question for you guys - when you left home, was that a wrench for you or did you just take it in your stride? I understand some may find it easier/harder than others.

CIMA and ACCA could be a good choice for you. You can have tuition or you can self teach and it can be done at any pace you like.

I started it myself but im on a hiatus ATM while be child grows up a little and i can get an employer who sponsors me (not this bunch of gits im with now).

Also an examination centre within 100 miles would be nice

as can be expected, given that I was 1300 miles away (a distance none of you Brits can even fathom nowadays).

you're not going to find sympathy here, however.

Learning to live without your folks is always going to be a change, but look, it's far far easier to deal with fellow students gradually, from halls through to renting together in the years after, it makes the transition much easier to deal with I would postulate than suddenly deciding when you're 25 " erm, i really need to move out now, but where?!"

hang in there at least a couple of months and I'm sure you'll deal with it with ease. You can always visit your family regularly, but don't keep going back all the time as otherwise you'll miss a bit of the Uni bonding experience in general.

Personally I loved moving away, but then my parents annoy the feck out of me, so not at all the same circumstances
