1) Trim. Not too short, but just cut it back a bit
2) Not really too sure. Just thought I'd give it a go and I liked it. It's a lot less sweaty in the summer for starters.

I use cream on my stomach, other wise it's normally so hairy that it looks like my pubic hair is making a break for my chest.
