I appreciate this might be a dumb question but I'm new to all this Mp3 malarkey.

How do I go about deleting music from iTunes without wiping them from the actual ipod?

Also, can I put albums on the ipod without having to use the sync option - as that's what's obviously stopping me from deleting the albums from my pc.

Common sense tells me that it probably will be possible, but for the life of me I can't find anything that will allow me to do so in iTunes.

I'm wanting to put around 50ish albums on the ipod, however, I don't want 50 albums clogging up my PC. Every time I go to delete an album from the library it's telling me it will be lost from my ipod play list too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Delete them from your itunes and don't plug your ipod back in? otherwise you'll have to put them all on again when you buy a new album.

you can choose to " manually manage music " in your IPod sub menu which will let you add or delete music from your IPod seperatly from your PC,

you could untick the ones you dont want and tick the "only synch checked items" in the ipod menu
