Has anyone here ever had their credit card cloned?
Today I received a phone call from Egg, saying they had noticed a suspecious transaction on my credit card. Apparently at 2pm while I was at work someone had tried to spend £1 on my card in some restuarant somewhere. The Egg bloke, explained this is a technique to check if the card is live and if it goes through they hit it with a bigger amount.
Luckily Egg picked up on this and cancelled it, I've cut my card up and they are sending a new one. I was quite impressed with Egg picking it up.
They also went through some of my other transactions from Amazon, which I said were fine. But after checking my online bill they seem to have disappeared from my statement as well.
MY parents thought they'd had their card cloned, as a couple of £1 payments had come out. Turns out this was something O2 do when they start you up on a new phone contract. So they'd cut up their credit cards for nothing.
Curb your impressibility! It's not like they have people sitting down and going through your transactions line by line They have software that flags any suspicious transactions, only then will a human operator follow up, and call you.

Does this mean you get free stuff from Amazon? Or have the orders not arrived and are gonna get withdrawn by Amazon?
