When Will Young beat Gareth Gates in the 1st X Factor final. It was a triumph of South over North and able bodied over handicapped, made me weep.

Hillsborough even though I was 5 at the time and I've never been there. Probably motivated more by hatred of The Sun than anything else.

None of them affect me, I just make tasteless jokes about them. Come to think of it, last time I got carded it was due to an incident regarding 9/11.

Ayrton Senna's death.
Happened on my bro's birthday on May 1st - remember my dad coming into the garden to tell us after we'd watched the Grand Prix

Senna's death was the first one I remember effecting me. I actually went out and nicked a newspaper from someone's letter box after the race oops....
Owen Hart, Eddie Guerrero. Owen Hart more so as I was younger and I watched it live.
9/11 no doubt.
The london tube bombings, Princess Di ect done nothing for me.

Which events have pulled at your heartstrings and have any affected you to doing something you wouldn’t do normally (make a donation, boycott a product etc.)?
Can’t think any of these have had an effect on me, maybe since I’m not directly linked to any of them, or maybe because I’m just dead inside.
A news story about some kid getting gunned down doesn’t have ay effect, but a story about someone putting a cat in the microwave will make me quite angry.

Just as I was thinking about the Senna death. It is suprising the amount of people who forgot Roland Ratzenberger also died on the track the day before.

9/11 just astounding
by far "the" event (of the disaster kind) I remember from my life so far
weirdly though, only ever donated once, and it was for the tsunami

I'm utterly shocked BBB hasn't come in here with "RIP Little Baby, safe in the arms of Jesus. xx" with appropriate linkage.
