I think I've become more unemotional as years have gone by.
| Desensitised perhaps a better phrase ? I think in this day of such much media information being at our fingertips that it takes something on a massive scale, for it to hit home. 9/11 did that for many people, I guess. Awesome - but not in a good way if you catch my meaning.

9/11 and the Tube stuff had kinda direct stuff for me, so will discount them. Only one that had some kind of profound effect other than that was, oddly, Senna's death. Watching that really shook me up. Remember the commentators saying they hoped he was allright and I just knew he was not making it. Felt really odd for quite a while.

If I could pick one event that has left me upset, bereft, in mourning and generally feeling that there's a huge gaping hole in my life that I'll never be able to truly fill again it would have to be watching the last episode of The West Wing. I genuinely felt depressed about it for a couple of weeks.

Hang on Darren Clarke on the 16th green at the Ryder Cup 2006 did have me choking back the tears.
So I'm not a totally empty vessel after all. \o/

None of the above except Senna tbh...and Owen Hart when I use to be a massive wrestling fan. :o
I remember the morning I found out about Diana...I was having a **** when my mum screamed...I then shouted WHAT! WHAT! No responce....
Me thinking the worst that she was in trouble quickly forced my bowels to empty...and pulled my pygamas trousers up. Ran to the livingroom and my mum looking horrified and teary eyed...saw the BBC Diana news scrolling and went...

individual deaths where there's a connection however tenuous. I 'm more sad about sporting stars copping it early than I am about other more serious events.
And tbh, I get more upset by a moving TV show / film than I do about world disasters. Tragedies are that, but they happen 10 a penny.
I recently learnt one of my friends lost her cousin in the thailand plane crash and that made me sad for her, for a bit.
But as is always pointed out, if we got emotionally worked up by every tragedy we'd get nowhere stuck in a moping frame of mind.

None of the above. About 9/11 I had it a little like James07?- watched it with interest not with emotion. The London bombings I didn't catch the news before a week after or so as I was travelling in the Trans-Siberean at the time. Princess Di and Madeleine McCann I never cared about tbh
The only event which actually made me feel emotional and didn't affect me directly was probably Marc-Vivien Foé's death. It was the 1st time I saw a footballer dying during a game
