there was a planned troop withdrawal anyway (the thousand now variously quoted as both an increase and a decrease on what had been decided). all political parties are the same, and equally childish. bleating on and complaining about an announcement of soldiers coming home for christmas, doesn't really do a lot for the tories.

| nope, they are *****, but the fact that their chief rivals are not only bigger ***** but are inherently ***** by their very nature means that they are not as bad as the tories

He went to my school.
So in summary all politicians are ***** but you'd prefer the devil you know than the devil you don't? IMO, the tories need to get to power, not for a change in policies, as all there well be are marginal changes, but to stop the situation as what happened in 80's and 90's of one party being in power for too long and the fall out from it.

What year was that poster done with Blair and the evil eyes? Seem to remember that being the first time I'd noticed parties attacking each other during election campaigns rather than promoting themselves.
Probably went on sooner, but that was the stand out moment for me.

| 2001, vs Hague I think.
Also remember 'New Labour, New Danger', which was aptly torn to shreds on The Friday Night Armistace.

SO you base your political allegiance on personality rather than policies.
Interesting.
I'd have thought the one that takes the most out of your pocket with the least return would be the one to be disliked the most.

i'd prefer anyone but the tories, but will almost certainly not vote labour
i voted labour last time because it was a choice between rudi vis, a good mp with a reasonable (if not great) record of voting against his party on certain issues, against a local tory party comprised entirely of nimby ***** who have wrecked the local council (more than local councils are generally wrecked). two horse race in a marginal seat, i see no problem with that.
having moved, i will now employ the novel technique of voting for the party/candidate what are the bestest. whoever that is.

| No. I think ***-ishness applies to ideology just as much as personality.
Incidentally, it's hard to base any allegiance on policy when it comes to the conservatives, given that they don't actually have any policies.
