Been running a router for ages now with no probs apart from the odd drop out, solved by a restart. In the past 24 hours though, my flatmate has has problems with his PC dropping out. Odd thing is that during all this, I'm on my laptop postign on here fine, and also have the 360 running and not been signed out of xBox live at all.
Now, most of you are fully aware of my limited (ie non-existent) IT knowledge. I don't know where to start to find out what's going on. He's done a spyware/adware scan and deleted everything. Still the same problem. I've unplugged the router, left it, and then restarted. Same result.
Could be a number of things, site of pc for wifi signal, if its a usb wifi adaptor then powersave could be dropping power to the usb ports.
when you say deleted everything referring to spyware/adware then you mean it found issues? If so Id look at that those malware items do for a start.
I have a feeling that we have the same IP address though. I haven't set anythng new up anyway. Plugged the 360 into the route and it just connected, did the same for the flatmate's PC and Windows just picked up the connection.
Although if it were an IP issue, who have I been able to do the 360 an here at the same time, and he's been online for the past two months with no issues?
