Is anyone watching this series of The Contender? I've caught bits of it.

I know Daaaaave mentioned it and wasn't too impressed with the lineup.

First series was ok, what happened to the winner ? Wasnt he "supposed" to be fighting someone good, like Hatton ?

My interest waned for 2nd series though, have to say.

Rumors are that Mora may fight WBC/WBO middleweight title holder Jermain Taylor in Spring 2007. On March 15, 2007, Mora refused a seven figure fight against Taylor that would have taken place in Memphis.

Sergio was to fight Kassim Ouma (25-3-1 15 KOs) in a middleweight bout on September 15, 2007. It was to be televised on HBO as one of the undercard bouts supporting the main event, (Juan Manuel Marquez v. Jorge Rodrigo Barrios). However, the event was cancelled and it left observers wondering why Mora again avoided fighting a top name opponent. He will instead fight the little known Elvin Ayala on October 16, 2007, at The Home Depot Center.

Cheers. Sergio Mora. That was the guy. Actually, reading that from Wiki reminded of Manfredo. He was the guy that was supposed to be fighting someone good and i think it was Calzaghe, which he fought and lost IIRC :thup:
