sounds stupid... a bit like preparing for a climb up Everest by putting your shoes on.
| tbf that's quite a sensible start for mountain climbing.

Russia plans to send a manned mission to the moon by 2025 and establish a permanent base shortly thereafter, the head of the Russian space agency Roskosmos said Friday.
"According to our estimates, we will be ready for a manned flight to the moon in 2025," Roskosmos chief Anatoly Perminov told state news agency RIA Novosti. A station that could be inhabited could be built there between 2027 and 2032, he said. | Nasa plan on sending a man to Mars before 2027 tho

Was actually considering signing up for this with my fiancee but no guarantees we'd be together (maybe a good thing?) and it doesn't help your chances of getting on the actual Mars mission. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Er, I don't think they're looking for the type of people who'll only do it if they can go with their girlfriend. They're poofs.

Actually the guy I know from ESA said they were recruiting couples in med/bioeng/electronics as candidates for the study but were doubtful they could find qualified applicants. Seriously being considered for the actualy mission though. You're split into groups of three for this though which is a bit of a bummer for the extra person.
