Default Only two premiership games this saturday

And one of them starts at 12:45pm

I understand that the uefa cup teams have to play on sunday but still its gone too far when only 1 premiership game starts at 3pm on saturday. I thought it was bad last season but its got even worse with setanta getting premiership games now.

Not sure what they can do but something has to be done about it.

I don't quite understand what's so bad about asking Sky to pick games out of those that HAVE to play on Sunday, i.e. the UEFA teams. Its not as if they've picked games that are big events in the course of the season - Fulham v Pompey and Reading v Derby? Why on earth these can't be on Saturday is beyond me.

The Premier League needs to grow a pair and start standing up for the fans rather than being so concerned at taking Sky et al's coinage.

Well I know, but the sentiment needs expressing.

Anyway i'm a Wednesdayite so what do we care? We'll be in League One soon enough

The fans aren't even standing up for themselves, so why would the FA, the Premiership or the clubs?

The fans need to grow a pair and refuse to pay overprized tickets and absurdly overprized TV. So what if you can't see the footie for a season (or two, TV companies have deep pockets) if the consequence is that you can watch football against a reasonable price afterwards? Why can't anyone see beyond next weekends match?

I don't see what the big deal regarding times is. As long as it's past noon on a weekend or past 7 on a weekday there should be no issues.

All our sport over in Australia is like that.

because lots of people work weekends and evenings too, but generally people just like things to be regular, 3pm on a Saturday every Saturday just makes life easier for everyone as they can plan other things without checking and double checking times. Then there's things like staying in and wanting to watch Soccer Saturday or MoTD, which'll be pretty pointless today for Premier League fans.

Firstly it's tradition.

Secondly though, what about the away fans? Having been to many away matches myself and as a Newcastle fan we have to travel further than most for our away trips, I can testify how hard it can be to get to a match kicking off at 3pm, never mind one kicking off at 12.

If the game's in Lonon, as many games are, and you're going by coach then it's going to be one hell of an early start. If it's a 4pm kickoff on Sunday then you run the risk of getting back to Newcastle at some stupid time in the night (Or the following morning) and many people may have to then get up early on Monday for work.

It's about putting the fans (Who actually bother to go to the matches) first rather than the TV companies and the armchair fans.
