So you'll have to go out and see a local NY lower league team. Go Founding Fathers SC \o/

Paying £20+ for a lower league game isn't as appealing as watching a live Premiership game for far less.
Agreed. This problem could be averted though if more of the TV money was shared down the leagues, than happens at present. Unfortunately the bigger clubs and the PL will always look after themselves first and foremost.

All our sport over in Australia is like that.
Firstly it's tradition.

Secondly though, what about the away fans? Having been to many away matches myself and as a Newcastle fan we have to travel further than most for our away trips, I can testify how hard it can be to get to a match kicking off at 3pm, never mind one kicking off at 12.

If the game's in Lonon, as many games are, and you're going by coach then it's going to be one hell of an early start. If it's a 4pm kickoff on Sunday then you run the risk of getting back to Newcastle at some stupid time in the night (Or the following morning) and many people may have to then get up early on Monday for work.

It's about putting the fans (Who actually bother to go to the matches) first rather than the TV companies and the armchair fans. </BLOCKQUOTE>

It's amazing just how different our fan cultures are.

Gameday for our big sports are an all day affair.

It's currently 9 AM in Baton Rouge and there are already tens of thousands of fans effectively partying just outside the stadium with the game still over 10 hours away.

Red Bulls were playing in Toronto this week and the next highest NY teams are playing in the 4th division whose season has been over since August and is largely a youth league.

Besides, if it's a Saturday in the fall in the US - you should be tailgating on a college campus anyways.

I wouldn't mind too much if all premiership games were played Sunday, with the teams playing on tuesday in the CL having there games moved to Saturday night for TV.

It'd mean I could go play football on the saturday afternoon without having to keep updated on the scores and i'd assume if I weren't playing and there were no games on id be more likely to go watch my local side.

I think it would be ok to have the odd game on a Sunday for teams in Wednesday's CL matches. Sometimes there is another midweek game the other side, like with League Cup recently.
