First thing to try is to upgrade your video drivers - CS2 seems to use some features that don't get a workout that much, and upgrading the drivers may help.
After that, you are going to have to post your system specs before we can really sit down and help you out.
[confused] Well, I just got me copy of CS2 in hand today and am wondering if I should install it now \:] ...CS runs great on my puter, isn't slow at all.....so I guess I'll just keep my fingers and toes crossed. 8[
I haven't noticed a difference from CS to CS2. \:]
That's because the speed differential is minimal from CS to CS2. But v7 was, IMHO, the fastest version since v4. So i think a person would really notice the sluggish difference going that far ahead in versions. .
[righton] 8D Reporting in: I just installed CS2 and it's like lightning on mine -- I don't see any slow down at all. I'm using an Athlon AMD64 FX-55, 2G RAM and ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition 256mb card.

Well I wouldn't know because when I got CS I upgraded my computer big time! The only original hardware in it now is the cd drive and the case. CS2 is not slow on my comp though. I'm running AMD 64 3400+ ,1 gig ram, and 9800 pro 256mb. I'm considering upgradeing my hard drive to a SATA 250gig. Their posed to be way faster than NTFS so I'll have to see for myself.
2 x intel Pentium 4 processor with 3.80GHz, 800FSB, all with 4 GB of New Dual channel DDR2-533MHz SDRAM from dell
and 2 x dell dimensions 8400 Pentium 4 processor 530 (3.00GHz, 800fsb, 1MB cache)
cs worked okay on all the pc's but cs2 is just running like a lame dog....
i ahve been looking at various other forums regard the matter and its seems its a common problem by the sounds of it........
for now i have reverted back to cs on all our pcs, and as a business it becomes expensive when you HAVE to buy a multi user licence and your disapointed with a product.......
We're going to need more system specs than that: Hard drive configuration, what % of memory is allocated to PS, what video card, where you have your scratch disks set up, etc...
You do mention that you are running this on machines with more than 2 gig of RAM. Have you tried the /3GB switch that will let CS2 access more than the standard 2 gig? That may help out matters.
