Kris, I understood the jist of that, and as far as I'm aware it didn't tell me how to access my files ? Or have I missed something?

I'm on XP Pro. How do I disable simple file sharing?

Launch Windows Explorer or My Computer.
Click on the Tools at the menu bar, then click on Folder Options.
Click on View tab.
In the Advanced Settings section at the bottom of the list, uncheck and unselect (clear the tick) on the “Use simple file sharing (Recommended)” check box.
Click OK.

You might also want to delete the following registry key with regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer\Nosecuritytab

hmmm, googled for the SFS and the option doesn't appear to be where it says it should be so I'm assuming I'm actually on home. Re-boot time.
