Default Business Card. Need Advice.

Well, I was working on a new sig. I liked it so much that I thought it would make a cool business card. I promised a person I would make her one, and never did. So, I thought I would invest the idea into her business card design.

However, I need feedback. There are 3 versions of this card. However, it all has to do with placement (i.e. this subject here, that subject there, etc.). I would like you all to give me your advice and tell me which one you think looks the best. Yes, I know they are not finished.

The bottom one has the best placement, because if the letters are over the white part it's hard to read. I don't like the greenish lettering though. A gold text could look classy.

Maybe it is just me - but I do not see any difference between the last two!! \:]

Also, I think business card should also somehow represent the business or service and I do not see the tuxedo thing being representative of hairstyling.

But if I had to choose...I would choose the last one layout but move the name closer to the bottom.

Well, I agree with that. I love to work with gold. However, I work with it so much that I felt it was just too cliche for me. Nevertheless, after reading your reply I just had to see what it would look like in gold.

The gold was very beautiful. However, I noticed that it popped. Your attention is drawn to the gold and it distracts you from the theme as a whole. So, gold is out. However, I did decide to lighten the green color a bit, because it was a little too murky. So, it looks a little better now.

You can't restrict your thinking that way. The advertisement world uses a lot of tactics to sale a product or service, and the tactics do not always have anything to do with the products or services.

A perfect example would be sex. How many comercials have you seen that were just slightly sexually suggestive. Yet the service or product had nothing to do with the subject.

Now, in the case of the person that I am making the card for, she has mostly elderly cliental, and very few younger people. Most of her elderly cliental are at the age when the elderly start passing away. Which, that has now begun.

The card was given a sopisticated design with just a vague hint of sexuallity (i.e. the kiss). Now, when you go to get your hair cut do you ask the stylist to make you look like a but ugly hag. I would assume not. You want to look sopisticated, attractive, and desirable.

However, the design of the card isn't for everyone. I can't see a Lawyer ever wanting such a card. When is the last time you heard somebody say, "I hired Richard Hanes to be my lawyer; because everybody who is anybody uses Richard Hanes.". No, that is the last thing on their mind.

Anyway, I made this business card design into a template. I can see a lot of uses for it in the future.

Hey Cloak & Dagger,

I think the design looks great. However, I liked the elongated triangle in #1 better than the nearly equilateral triangles of #s 2& 3. So what I'd suggest is taking a look at the longer triangle with the name placement found on the third.

[size=9px](Um let's see, that's one from column A and two from column B... or is it?)[/size] \:]

Welles,

Yes, I liked the elongated triangel the best also, it was my original and prefered design. However, lowering the text just below the triangle has already been tested. It made the look too cramped, as if I was trying to force something into the picture that doesn't belong. Keep in mind that the steet address and phone number have to go into the theme as well, and has to be large enough for it to be legible.

Welles,

I just realized why my reply to your post was so stupid. I placed those examples up there in the first place to ask which ones were the best.

Then like a dummy I tell you I couldn't use that one. [confused]

To make this less confusing, which I admit I did not mention this in the first place; I included the first example just incase the design wasn't as distracting as I thought. To me it looked like it broke up the text and made it difficult to read. Then I thought, "Well, maybe that is just me." So I posted it to see if others agreed. Also, I thought others may have alternative solutions to the first one. \:]

Anyway, my first reply to you was accurate. What I said was applicabe. However, without that additional information it made my reply to you look insulting. [oops]

You know I noticed that the off white section of my image has a red hue to it. Why? I did not select a color. I selected a very light gray. This red hue even shows up in print. It is very faint, but if you hold it up to the light you can see it. [confused]
