It wasnt going all that well at Villa, people have constantly been seen smoking in the toilets at half time (like being back at school ffs), concerns were being raised to stewards and staff but nothing was done.
The fans went to the very top and raised the issue with a board member (General Charles Krulak) who posts on some fansites.
Quote:
12 people were ejected from yesterdays game for smoking. 5 season ticket cards are on the desk of our Head of Security. We had two representatives from "Smoke Free Birmingham" visit the grounds yesterday...no report on what they saw or felt. This is a serious issue that does not just concern the staff at Villa Park but the fans as well. We are on top of this as of now, as we cannot afford a stiff fine because a small, small minority of fans cannot last a couple of hours w/o a smoke.
no real point here other than to ask how it's been recieved at other clubs.

How is the smoking law/ban going at your club? Post #2
Bogs at OT were literally full of people smoking. Same at Stamford Bridge. Fairly sure people just smoke outside at The Withdean as there's barely a single roof at the place

indeed. People can now manage in pubs, and have always managed on flights and on long coach journeys to European and domestic games, yet cant go a couple of hours during a match.

Been no smoking at Arsenal for 3/4 years now, so people used it really, hardly ever see anyone with a cigarette, too busy quaffing our pink champagne iirc.

We went no smoking last season but the loos were always like gas chambers at half time with people having a crafty one in there.
Not spotted anyone smoking this season though, although stewards are always in the loos checking for them
that was the main problem we were having at Villa - there just werent enough stewards around at half time. One steward is simply not going to persuade 20 people to stop smoking by walking into the toilets on his own and asking politely.
There were much more about for the Leicester game, despite a reduced attendance and there were a load yesterday in the Holte.
