You could road it from Bankgok for next to nothing. It is the sweatiest most uncomfortable journey ever though.

Done that already.
Awesome road, pot holes you could lose a mini in.
Air Asia flies from Bangkok to Phnom for a whopping $21, so I may well take that option.
If and when I get to Bangkok!!! </BLOCKQUOTE>
I take it you mean the crossing at Poipet ? It's crap up there. If you are going to Sihanouk then cross just North of Trat. Up to Khlong Yai, over border into Koh Kong and then big boat to Sihanouk.
I'd take a cheaper flight to Bangkok and then cheap flight to PP if you're in a hurry, waaay more carriers to Bkk so much more likely to get a decent price </BLOCKQUOTE>
I crossed into Cambodia at Poipet which was the nightmare journey on to Siam Reap, on the way back crossed back into Thailand at Cham Yeam which was a little bit better, on the way from Sihanoukville still involved crossing the river a few times on what amounted to no more than a raft.
Strangest car ferry ever.
