Change onto the Victoria line at Green Park and then get off at Kings Cross.
The Victoria line is also the closest to the exit at the Thameslink end.

It is also a quick walk from one platform to the other at Green Park.
I've done this journey a number of times and have got it down to the maximum efficiency for smallest walking outlay!!

Getting back you can use the Piccadilly line to Leicestershire Square and then Northern line to Waterloo.

In the end we got the rail replacement bus from about 20 yards past the tube station. Got it to vauxhall and had to run 200 yards to get to it and up a flight of stairs that seemingly went all the way to heaven!
Got to the top of the stairs just as the last train back to Windsor pulled up! :cool:

Legged it to Stockwell. The for some reason all the Northern line trains wer going via Bank, not Charing Cross, so I had to go to Elephant and Castle and change to the Bakerloo line. Legged it through Waterloo and got on the train with 30 seconds to spare  | |
