My mate's house is called Silver Birches and he can never get a pizza delivered, they always want his house number which doesn't exist

It's worth £640k so this probably reinforces the point you shouldn't be posh and have a house without a number

id imagine theres a field in the payment system which says "House number" and is mandatory so cant be left blank. Im sure you could just put 0 or 1 in there and with the correct house name, road name & post code it should still work.

Not necesarilly, some houses are officially named and have never been given a number so are recognised as not having a number by the post office.

not a post office issue though. it's a zoning one. the lot is numbered with whatever your equivalent of a DP# is, surely.

Surely it is a post office issue, can't see them delivering to an address that's not on their database (if they've no record of a #13 they won't deliver any mail saying it's #13 at a guess as the address doesn't exist on their system.)

all houses have numbers, even if they aren't displayed on the address or anything, we're always getting mail sent to No.4 of our street, even though our house is named, it's because our house was designated as 4 when the road and house were built.

My house doesn't, but then again it was there before the street was built
