Mainly because football is a lot more entertaining and easier to understand for the public.

Also the domestic football league >>>>>>> domestic rugby league.

There's a lot more football fans than rugby fans in this country.

Been a brilliant world cup though.

I realise it might not be the fault of anyone in particular but it seemed the England games were on at the same time as footie games on more than one occasion. Only gonna be one winner there i'm afraid.

Also, bunch of posh nonces

I was happy we won the last World Cup but you cannot compare the feeling if we won a football tournament. I think tournoi de france was more emotional

I've been spoilt with rugby success since i really got into it (when Wasps moved to Wycombe). Had 3 Premiership title wins, 2 European Cups and a Powergen Cup, with the World Cup thrown in for good measure \o/

Following Wasps is a far more enjoyable experience than following United, but when United get success it's far more satisfying tbh. Mainly because I have no deep lying hatred towards any other clubs re: rugby.

It's because Germans don't play rugby.

It's like cricket, just in a different season (for the most part).

As soon as england look like winning, out come the ticket-tape parades, knighthoods and flag waving, but as soon as they lose it's ignored completely.

Well at least the cricket and rugby teams have won something, David Beckham will be knighted without winning anything for/with England.

Apart from Le Tournoi

Rugby is so much better to watch than football as something of interest happens pretty much all the time.
Football matches can deteriorate into periods of mindless tedium.

Also full contact sports are always going to be more fun the "non" contact sports.

My Dad's god father was a chap called Peter Stoop.
(That'll mean nothing unless you join the dots).
