Anyone who thinks that 18 certificate games are aimed for people over 18 is extremely naive.

I realise I'm gonna get jumped on for this post, and theres no way I want games banned, but it does seem a little naive by everyone (not just people on here, gamers in general) to be saying that games definitely don't make people violent, in the same way that its a bit stupid for non-gamers to be saying that games definitely make everyone violent.
Admittedly the type of people who do get violent or whatever are the type of people who'd probably end up killing someone anyway, regardless of whether they play games or not, but a fair few studies suggest that playing a violent game compared to a non-violent game (one of the ones I saw compared Medal of Honor with Need For Speed) increases activity in a part of the brain linked to violence and irritability etc. for a period.
So yeah, I don't really see any reason why there shouldn't be more research into it. Bearing in mind I don't want games banned, and that I think the majority of people aren't gonna turn insane by shooting a few generated zombies, but its a little off everyone saying are totally safe and don't alter anyone in the slightest.

| Games do make you annoyed and angry, but not enough to go out and kill. But its the way the police or whoever are quick to blame games with no evidence at all.
Example is that Washington sniper a few years back. They found a violent game he owned, and that was it. The game made him do it. Convincing evidence |
