I like the handball! chant. When the opposing fans/players make some ridiculous claim for handball that isn't given, every individual touch of the ball (by players, ball boys, whoever) is greeted with a unified HANDBALL! for the next few minutes.
How widespread is that? I've only heard Villa and Man Utd fans do it so far.
We did a similar thing at Gillingham this season. They were doing the usual, "Ooooooooh, you're ****" thing at goal kicks, but seemed to be starting far too high pitched. It was almost as if they were starting two thirds of the way through. Subsequently, every time the ball went out be it a throw, goal kick, corner anything we would do it but to the next level, and then cheer every time we touched the ball inevitably afterwards.
There was a passage of play where in approx. two minutes, the ball kept going out for a throw in the same spot. It was great fun. Helped we were winning mind.
At Rugby Park last season these guys behind me were giving Alan Combe pelters all game. He had a red top on. All of a sudden they start belting out 'lady in red' word for word.
