Am I right in thinking if I use one, and then pay it off always within a week say, i won't be charged interest and it is in effect a debit card.

Or will I be ever charged extra?

most credit cards have a certain period after the purchase in which you won't be charged interest, one of mine is 59 days

yeah the one I'm looking at is 59 days too.

So, one more question Visa or Mastercard?

Just make sure you are disciplined enough to pay it off, always thought i would be good with mine and somehow i owe too much now well more than i can afford to pay back in one go anyway
